Halloween 2009

Sage really enjoyed being dressed as Eeyore for Halloween.

More adventures

Sage has been busy. There have been lots of adventures. Mommy hasn't been very good about keeping everyone updated. Sage is on the move. He's been walking since 10 months. He's been enjoying hiking with Daddy, his first haircut, and even going to the pumpkin patch. Sage will be a big brother the end of March. Sage will have a little sister. Everyone is excited about that.

Our little adventure boy

We've been busy. Sage took his first steps on his 10 month birthday. He took three steps toward Daddy. No pictures of that yet since he is still pretty much just crawling. We know the walking/running is coming but we aren't trying to rush it. Sage began swimming lessons a couple weeks ago. It's so much fun to watch him in the water. We took a trip to the Tulip Festival. It was a wonderful day for the family. Sage really enjoyed spending time in his hiking pack. He loves being outdoors!

We've been busy

It's been a bit since our last update. The whole family came down with that wonderful stomach virus. Sage started it. He likes to share so he promptly gave it to Mommy and Daddy got it a few hours later. It was lots of fun. Fortunately, we are past all that now.

After everyone was healthy we took a trip to Darrington for the Happy Day Dinner. They have it once a year. They have an auction to raise money for the Funeral Dinners throughout the year. It's a good time and I just love the name. "Happy Day Dinner" does it get any better than that?

The next weekend, we headed down to Montesano to visit my Dad. It was a nice time visiting with Grandpa. We saw some crazy weather in our short visit. We had snow, rain, and sunny weather in our two day visit. Sage had a good time playing with Grandpa's strings on his sweatshirt. Jessie, as always, enjoyed her belly rubs as she sprawled out on her special side of the couch.

Now to some sad news. Unfortunately, we experienced another miscarriage. We found out during our routine ultrasound on Friday. It's been a difficult weekend but we're getting through it. It has been wonderful having Sage to make us laugh and smile. I am still recovering and Jones is doing a great job taking care of Sage and me.

Sage is going to start swimming lessons at the end of the month. We are really excited. I promised my Mom before she passed away that I would start my kids swimming early. It was very important to her. I have to agree. I have no memory of not knowing how to swim so I'm thrilled to get Sage in the water early. Based on how much he likes his baths and loves to kick those legs, I think he'll be a natural.

Then there were 8...

teeth, not babies. Yes, finally Sage's top front teeth broke through! We are all very excited about it.

Sage is 8 months!

It is amazing how quickly the time has passed. It seems like just yesterday that we learned we were pregnant with Sage. Now, he's here, healthy, and he has just learned that he will be a big brother! Yes, you read that right. We are pregnant! The due date is November 5th. Keep posted for more news on that.

Sage is still working on his 7th and 8th teeth. You can actually see them through the gums. One good chomp and I know they will finally poke through. His latest form of entertainment is watching Jessie eat. I'm not quite sure why it's so funny but it really gets Sage laughing hard.

Jessie is getting around better on her 3 legs. She still is a bit timid starting up the stairs but she'll get used to them. She has gained more energy and has had a couple good play sessions. I still need to rehab her for long walks. We went on a walk with the neighbor a couple weeks ago, she got so tired, the kids had to walk so we could put Jessie in the stroller. She was very thankful and a little embarrassed. I do have photographic evidence of this. It's on my phone and I'm not sure how to get it onto the computer. Jones will help me with that later so I can share the picture.

Learning to blog

I have not been very good about keeping everyone in the loop with our family. Here is my attempt to do that.
Sage is growing like a weed. He is about 21 pounds and very tall. He is crawling and loves to stand holding on to anything. He has 6 teeth (soon to be 8) he says, "dada", "mama", and "baba". This week, he has another 1st...his first ear infection. That part we could do without.

Jessie is now a 3 legged dog. She had joint cancer in her right hind leg. The only treatment that would prolong her life was the amputation. After a few setbacks, she seems to be adjusting.
Anthony is working and doing well in school. He spends a lot of time with his friends so we don't see him much.
Jones and I are doing well. We are enjoying spending time with our little man. We can't believe how quickly he's changing.
Well, this my first attempt. Let me know if there is something else you want to know.
